EU Commissioner for Regional Policy, Johannes Hahn and famous blogger-economist, Paul Jorion have confirmed their presence as keynote speakers at this annual EBN event.
Johannes Hahn - EU Commissioner for Regional Policy
Graduated with a Doctorate in philosophy from the University of Vienna, Johannes Hahn was sworn in as Austrian Federal Minister for Science and Research on 11 January 2007 (and acting Federal Minister for Justice from December 2008 to January 2009). In November 2009 he was nominated by the Austrian Federal Government as member of the European Commission. President Barroso appointed him European Commissioner for Regional Policy.
Paul Jorion- Blogger-Economist
Famous anthropologist-sociologist with a special interest in the cognitive sciences,Paul Jorion is a columnist at the French daily Le Monde, also a blogger at www.pauljorion.com/blog/ the most popular French-speaking blog on economic and financial issues. In 2005, he was one of the first to predict the subprime crisis and subsequent recession.
Born and raised in Belgium, he has been a Professor at the universities of Brussels, Cambridge, Paris VIII and University of California at Irvine. As of 2008, he was living in Los Angeles, California. He is a Visiting Scholar of the "Human Complex Systems" Program at UCLA.
