New President of QRPTA

Mario Monette has been elected President of the Association des parcs de recherche et technopoles du Québec (QRPTA) for a one-year term.

This election took place during the General Meeting of the Association held on June 16, 2010 in Bromont, where members voted for Technoparc Montréal President and CEO Mario Monette as its new president.

On the heels of the Quebec government's announcement of a new 2010-2013 Quebec Research and Innovation Strategy (QRIS), the new president said he was pleased to see that Quebec has set out even more ambitious research and innovation return objectives. He hopes that science parks will play an even greater role within the framework of this new strategy by hosting even more joint industrial research projects or upgrading existing infrastructures. The new president feels strongly that "science parks remain premiere sites when it comes to setting up common research infrastructures."
