A study on digitalisation on the agrifood sector has been presented to the European Parliament representatives by EBN Members: VVA Brussels, Wageningen UR, South East BIC and Rev’Agro Beauvais, on March 2019.
The results of the study indicate that digital technologies have a high potential to help food chain sectors and farmers deal with their key challenges. These technologies can and will improve the agriculture sector by developing business innovation through helping to create new commercial opportunities in diverse areas such as sustainable ecosystems and bio-based industries.
They conclude the research by stating that advancements of crucial technologies are based on significant disruptive accelerators, referring to the farmers that are searching for technology in order to solve challenges that they are facing, and drivers, the chosen factors for adaptation with innovative technologies in the agri-food sector.
